Today was the meeting with the guy i told you last time. He asked me to built him a product far away from what i have in my mind, far away from what i think is usefull for the community, us.

My feelings weren’t good about this meeting. It was strange to talk to someone, which the only connection was business.

My friend gave me a good hint: To finish the concept completely and find a motivated, open-hearted and good programmer, who do it for a good price. And my friend will pay it! What good news after that weird meeting! I thought my project was dying. But now, it is a new begining! 😀

I will keep you up to date!Image

Synappz can grow to a powerfull tool in every-day organizing of sozial communities, projects and business. Because the essence of our idea is so simple, there are a variaty of uses.

There are several possibilities to realize our project:

First: Go to a bank, get some credit…

…and run:

  1. Start a coorperation
  2. Buy some programmer freelancer
  3. Let them code the concept – fast
  4. Public our program
  5. make a lot of advertisement
  6. try to make a lot of money to pay the credit back

Another possibility:

Image

  1. Make a very very very good presentation of our idea
  2. Publish it on kickstarter
  3. Make a lot lot lot of “friends” and make them to donate
  4. Buy some freelancer
  5. Make a good plattform for the people by the people, free and nice

The third possibility is:

  1. find some people who are realy interested in helping to develop the thing
  2. coordinate and wait wait wait
  3. maybe we reach the goal
  4. maybe there is profit and we can pay out to the developers.

This three points we are sure about:

  1. We want to realize our project. The best way!
  2. If there is profit we would pay out our developers.
  3. If there is a lot of profit we want to invest it to social projects

Update:

We contact several open-source communities like Mozilla for support or  if we could join.

There is a very interesting business-creation program by Mozilla that wants to help start ups around the world:

http://webfwd.org

You can see here a small preview of some of the functions of the final version:
create a bubble, insert an app and connect other bubbles to a network.
You can use the programm in your browser or as an app at your mobile device.

The preview was built by our Designer in order to show first ideas of design and functions to an interested audience.

Update (Nov 2012): We desided to  use PHP.

We are questioning the opa language at the moment!!

Our reasons:

  • very bad documented
  • some functions doesn’t work propperly
  • draggable functions dont work on smartphones
  • animations are not opa’s strength
  • not much people know about it -> bad support

we are looking for alternatives!

Why we chose our programer language: Long time we were discussing about the right script. First we started in jquery, but after we fount opa (http://opalang.org) we felt, this is the right way to go. Even if it is not popular at the moment. Together with html 5 & CSS 3 this will be our base!

Short info about opa: Opa is an open source language for scalable web applications. It can be used at server and client-site: your write in one code and opa compile it to the several scripts. This is why you can generate seperate virutal tasks and conent in one window easily.

For our project we need the freedom of navigation like with opa. We also want to have a good interaction with desktop-navigation.

Other codes we were thinking about: ruby-on-rails, node.js, python.

The idea began end of 2011. At this time i was thinking about a network of people who creat there own space but in real. That means they would have a little pice of land and can decide, what is built there. I planned with a community of a few hundred people. (see for that the project-page:http://socialvillage.lima-city.de (in German).  For that venture we needed a plattform, which integrate tools of organizational management, process developement and social networking. That kind of platform did not exist.

Our first idea about it was, that if we create a platform, it will be project-based not people-based like all the other plattforms.
That is because the focus in our network is an activity not the jabber of many people.

Second is, that in our village-project we need a lot of categories, like a business-category, a science-category, a main-category, a landscape-category etc. And this categories will hace some under-categories.
But at first, not we, but the people’s needs and acticitiys creates the categories, there are not fixed (they come and disapear with their need):

That reminds us to the structure of mindmap, which helps uncategorized notions to be organized in a system, that is very close to our way of thinking.
So we started to combine the social-network-idea with mindmap.

But the third step was, that we would need some advanced tools, like to-do-lists, chats, picture-sharing, vote-tools etc. to develop a usable working surface for a community who plan to develop a real village.-> The apps came into it. With that little tools, we have the opportunity to create simple programs in all kind of ways to solve mostly all problems of developing, organizing and deciding in a social community.

In the end we realized, that this is not just a tool for this projects, it could be the tool for a lot of social, private and economical projects, that need a good structure of communication and exchange of information in one plattform in a very intuitive and brain-friendly design.

I am very happy, that I can involve you into the developement of our project!

We made some suggestions for the raw design and if you want, you can vote and discuss our product.

It is also possible, if you have your own ideas, to share it with us, so finally we together find the best design!

Please vote for the best design and leave some comments with your ideas and wishes!
How important would it be for you to customize the design by yourself?
